속출하고 있다고 한다 (관련 기사). 이명박 정부도 출범 초에 그랬지만 지난 수 년동안 언론들, 정치인들이 두바이 찬가를 얼마나 불러댔던가. 아무리 불확실성, 위험, 무지가 근대사회의 본원적 특징이라고 치더라도 요즘은 그 정도가 너무도 심해서 도대체 전문가들이 내리는 어떤 진단, 전망도 믿기 힘든 지경에 이르렀다. 원유값이 급등했을때 CNN은 이 급등세가 조만간에 진정될 가능성은 거의 없다는 내용을 보도했으나 현실은 정확히 그 반대로 진행되었다. 불과 수 주 후에 유가가 급락했던 것. 최근 온세계를 흔들고 있던 미국발 금융위기의 규모를 제대로 예측했던 경우는 거의 없었던 것 같고... '미네르바'의 비관적 예언에 찬사를 보낸지 얼마 지나지도 않았는데 이미 외환 유동성 위기는 지나간 듯한 분위기다. 요즘 일어나는 일들을 보고 있자면 마샬 버만이 책 제목으로 써서 유명해진 '공산당 선언'의 한 구절을 떠올리지 않을 수 없다: "All That Is Solid Melts Into Air". 우리말로 그 책 제목은 '견고한 모든 것은 대기 속으로 사라진다', '굳어진 것은 모두 사라진다' 정도로 번역되는 모양인데, 독일어 원문은 덜 재미있다. "Alles Ständische und Stehende verdampft" "Ständische und Stehende"를 동어반복처럼 이해했나 보다. 사실 ständisch 는 사전에 따르면 '신분제적'이란 뜻 밖에 없는데... 실제로 인터넷에서 검색해보니 독일어 원문에서 우리말로 번역할 경우엔 대개 "모든 신분적인 것과 정지해 있는 것은 사라지고" "신분적인 요소와 정체된 것은 모두 사라지고" 등으로, 영어에서 번역할 경우엔 "딱딱한 것은 모두 사라지고...." 정도로 옮기는 것 같다.
'공산당 선언' 해당 부분을 독문과 영문으로 옮겨 놓는다.
